information for minecraft server:

minecraft server is running version 1.17.1 with minecraft forge for use of mods. it is currently hosted on Aternos.org while i look into alternative solitions. Aternos is not bad, but it is not great. as it is a free service, the service is limited. chunk distance loading being the main concern.

in order to play on this server, the versions for each mod on your computer must match the versions on the server. all mods used on the server can be found on a list here.

texture packs (resource packs) and shaders are not required to play the game on this server but are optional cosmetic tweaks you may choose to take advantage of. i have provided a variety of textures and a couple shader packs i enjoy although there are numerous others available on a variety of minecraft modding websites. intructions for using these features will be found below the standard installation procedure.

Standard Installation:

In order to install forge (and OptiFine) you need JRE to run the .jar file. - JavaSetup8u301.exe

1: Install Minecraft 1.17.1
2: Run 'forge-1.17.1-37.0.70-installer'
3: Cut/Copy folders from zip: mods, resourcepacks, shaderpacks
4: Go to MineCraft directory:
5: C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
6: Paste folders, overwrite (current folders will should be empty unless you have other mods/textures/shaders installed)
6a: If you choose to use shaders follow instructions below before returning to step 7.
7: Run MineCraft Launcher
8: Select 'forge' from the list and PLAY
